Faculty in their Final Year of Appointment: Proposal Submission

Proposals may be submitted to any federal or state granting agency on behalf of the faculty who have been notified of their termination as members of the faculty. However, the University cannot guarantee that an award made from a federal or state granting agency will be transferable to any new institution with whom the faculty member may become affiliated. This decision is made by the sponsoring agency; and while the University may recommend such a transfer of the award for the individual investigator, it has no part in the actual decision.

Generally, proposals submitted by individuals who have been notified of their termination as members of the University of Notre Dame Faculty or have accepted a position at another institution, should contain an appropriate statement indicating their change in status, both in the text of the proposal and on the proposal routing form.

Proposals intended for private individuals and/or foundations will not be submitted since these potential donors often fund a proposal not only for its merit, but also because of their relationship with the University of Notre Dame.

The University will not provide matching funds for the final year of appointment.
