Liz Rulli joined the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) in September, 2008. With over 25 years of experience in higher education, Liz directs and oversees the management of all research-related aspects of pre and post award operations. Liz directs the provision of consultation to faculty, researchers, and senior administrators regarding proposal and application development and submission, and post-award contractual and financial grant management, ensuring consistency and conformity with agency and University requirements. She provides direction and strategic guidance with respect to sponsored research initiatives and projects. Liz has been instrumental in efforts to reduce the amount of time faculty spent on grant administration, and on the improvement of our processes, systems and data to support and track our research activities.
Liz earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Management in 1987 and a Master’s of Science in Management in 1997, both from Purdue University. Prior to joining the OVPR, Liz held positions at Purdue University as a Project Administrator for industrial and foundation Sponsored Programs, Business Manager in the Physics Department and later the College of Science, Project Director for a university-wide software initiative. Her last position at Purdue was that of Director of Financial Affairs for the Vice President for Research.
